this is the tiara
most store bought ones were too low-it under two inches high, the young lady needed one a little higher to complement her veil
a few pink stones were added as the wedding theme was pink and black
as there were a lot of stones it was a bit heavy but luckily we achieved what she wanted and had spent a year looking for.....
been busy
have been really busy, but hope to post a photo of the tiara I did for a friends wedding.as usual I could not sign in to my blog.....note to me

new toys
I have a new toy,a fine guage knitting machine to accompany my brother 830 and brother 230.now I need more hours in the day,new sponge bars have been aquired for the brothers-ave not been used for about twelve-fiftenn years so they need a good clean
the new machine is a knitmaster and I have not used knitmaster for a very long time-think 1978!
sad news
I just love my overlocker, she arrived because I got married and the previous overlocker was shared between my sister and I.she is not so forgiving as the old machine-which is still going strong having arrived approx 1987,as she does like to be set up properly, however the stitch quality is just as perfect as you would expect.

bling ring stuff
I used a ring base like the copper coloured one here,it has two rows of four loops, and I put four lots of beads in each loop.so you will need thirty two head pins and 32 beads or sets of beads if like me you put more than one on a head pin
make sure the head pins are soft as these are easier to use,I used some fancy ones with littel knobs on teh end but this is not necessary, now to do a wrapped loop look on the net,as there is a ton of info,I use beadsisters ,go to the site and search for wrapped loops
now to do a loop ,you put the bead on the headpin, and bend it to a right angle ,then put the round nose pliars on the head pin and make a half loop now stop and put this loop on the loop on the ring, next finish the wrap and cut off the end of the headpin,if you have crimping pliars you can crunch the wrap but with soft wire this is not needed really
put four lots of wraped loops on each ring loop, these instructions are messy but it doesn ot take long once you have mastered wrapped loops,it does get a bit fiddly though

hand aid gloves
I have a pair of hand eze gloves but they cost £18.50 so want to keep them for best sewing not for around the house and such, also they do not support my thumbs.I wanted a pair to keep my hands warm whilst I was knitting and doing general work so I drew around my hand and thumb and used the idea of the handeze gloves and this is what I came up with.I used leotard lycra the stuff that is not so find you can see through it but quite firm.it stretches accross and up and down.I thought if I had to wear gloves why not make them pretty.I intend to put some crystals on them when I get a hot fix wand-hoping for a birthday pressie here.the stitching is not great ,I am trying to manipulate the needle whilst playing with my kittien twinkle.I used a back stitch, dont make the stitches too small as this will cause the fabric to bunch up,if you want to use a sewing machine /serger then you will need wider seam allowences to allow for feed dogs, pattern to follow
