I dont like bought dress forms as they do not look remotely like my shape,however I do collect them,this is what I usually use this one for

I know this is not a good photo,but the frock and the cocoon do look lovely in real life.,ten days ago philip told me he was going to a black tie do,well as he goes to one several times a year I did not take any notice ,until he said I would be going too-I had no fock,no pattern and no fabric ,plus I did not have any ideas in my head.I went into my sisters where we have a huge stash of fabrics left over from the fancy dress business we had ages ago.I found this gorgeous black panne,and as I already had the cocoon it seemed perfect
it is not finished yet,you can see the taking thread around the neck binding
I used my favourite frock pattern that is from the late eighties ,early nineties,and I know it is comfy and fits well.I do not like really fitted clothes and had to make sure the frock fitted the occaision as philip would be representing work ,and his collegues and superiors would be there,but I had to be free to be me too
