simon henry

lots of ladies ask me how I learned to make patterns, and I explain I went to college in the mid seventies, and although I hated it I loved what I learned and only left cos the college would not teach me more stuff like bra cutting and corset making....things I have learned since
I was very lucky and had great teachers
on sunday last I was happy to go to aberkhan fabrics in mostyn to hear a short talk by simon henry
he has two wonderful books out,the little black dress and the party dress
buy the books
and if you can go to see simon
he had a wonderful teaching style and makes the boring bits -to some anyway fly by,he shows how to drape a dress dummy in calico to make a block to fit you and you alone ,and how to adapt it
go see simon, and see why we cutters get so excited about our craft
simon is a wonderful infectious teacher so if you live in the uk you are in for a treat
I only wish I had asked if I could have taken a photo on my phone to put here so you could see the fun we all had
