I am trying to learn this as well! I purchased a few kits to make some jewelry for my daughter - at her request, since she had no desire to try it herself - and loved it. This past month I bought a book on making chain mail and hope to make a few items for Christmas gifts. We'll see if I get them done.

this was taken at the victoria and albert museum-known as the V&A
unfortunately my mother is in hospital with a stroke ,my husband aunty is in with a broken hip and husbands best friend is in in intensive care ,so no learning chainmaille yet!!
